A new company called OKXICE has asked U.S. regulators for permission to start a tokenized securities platform. The company is a joint venture between the crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, known as ICE, which is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.

According to Seeking Alpha, the filing went to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The goal is to let people trade on the platform 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A tokenized security is a digital version of an investment, recorded on blockchain technology, the system behind many cryptocurrencies. Seeking Alpha describes the move as part of a push to bring stock trading onto crypto-style technology.

Regular U.S. stock exchanges open only at set hours on weekdays. Round-the-clock trading would be a big change from that routine, but the notes do not say when or whether the SEC will approve the platform.

The notes come from a short report that appeared on Seeking Alpha and TradingView, so many details are not yet public. These include which securities would be offered and who could use the platform.

Key facts

  • OKXICE is a shared business created by the crypto trading site OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, also known as ICE.
  • ICE is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.
  • OKXICE has submitted an application to the SEC to open a platform for tokenized securities.
  • The platform is designed for 24/7 trading.
  • Seeking Alpha reported the news on Oct 5, 2026, and TradingView carried the same headline.

Why it matters

If platforms like this are approved, investors might one day be able to trade at hours outside the normal market day. That could mean more flexibility, but prices can still go up and down at any time, and new systems come with new rules and risks. For now this is only a filing, so everyday investors do not need to change anything.

What happens next

The SEC has to review the filing, and the notes do not say when a decision will come.

πŸ’‘ Money lesson: New ways to invest can appear quickly, so take time to learn how they work and what risks they carry before using them.
